Sulur Town

Sulur (சூலூர்)

Sulur is a town located in the south-east of Coimbatore, on the banks of Noyyal River. Sulur is a sub-urb of Coimbatore. Sulur is a town panchayat of its own and also a taluk. It is also a Panchayat Union. It is located 20 km from Coimbatore.

Sulur is well-connected by road network. Trichy Road (NH-81) passes through Sulur. Sulur is connected to Avinashi road(NH-544) through Sulur Main Road(MDR-879).

New names of city, towns and localities in Coimbatore

New names of City and localities in Coimbatore.

New names or spellings have been announced for 1,018 cities and localities and gazetted by Tamil Development Department of Tamil Nadu.

When it comes to Coimbatore district, the English spelling of the district is changed according to its Tamil Pronunciation, as "Koyampuththoor".
